Construction Update July

Following construction commencing in December, works on site have continued at a steady pace, with progress sure to excite the many businesses gearing up to launch their operations at The Base Craigieburn soon.

Stage One civil road works are well underway

Intersection boxing is currently in progress. The laying of the base course is also progressing well at Doswell Way, setting the foundation for the future road network.

Installation of electrical conduits as well as NBN infrastructure has commenced, creating data pathways that will serve the long term needs of businesses and consumers at The Base. Stage One civil construction is on track for completion by Q4 2022, with the remaining civil construction works on track for completion in early 2024.

“Since the beginning of the pandemic, Council has invested $14.5 million in stimulus support for the community, putting Hume City in a strong position to recover. This includes a number of recovery actions to address impacts on jobs, businesses and unemployment” says Hume City Council Mayor, Councillor Carly Moore.

Stage One anchor tenants; Carl’s Junior, KFC, and Kool Kids Childcare centre are scheduled to commence operations in late 2022/early 2023, and as many as 150 retail and commercial businesses are expected to commence operations by 2025, casting the hub as a focal centre for retail, entertainment, dining, wellbeing and professional services in the region.
